FinTech Minor

FAQs

Minors are declared by filling out an Undergraduate Change of Minor form. Students can add the FinTech Minor at any time using the “Change of Minor Form.” We recommend submitting the form before Phase I or Phase II begins to allow enough time to process.

Business Administration students will list their academic advisor as both the major advisor and minor advisor.
Non-Business Administration students will list their academic advisor as the major advisor and Beatriz Rodriguez as the minor advisor.

The Scheller College of Business will lift major restrictions on the third week of registration. Non-BSBA students will be able to register for classes at that time. No Exceptions.
The Scheller College of Business uses the waitslists to manage enrollment. We do not give permits or overrides.

Students can schedule an appointment with a Scheller Advisor through AdvisorLink after the Undergraduate Change of Minor form has been processed.

The minor in Fintech, offered by the Scheller College of Business and the College of Computing, provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the intersection of finance and technology.

Through a blend of coursework from both disciplines, students gain expertise in financial concepts such as investments, risk management, and financial modeling, alongside proficiency in AI and machine learning techniques that are essential for modern financial applications. This interdisciplinary approach equips students with the skills needed to navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of financial technology, preparing them for careers in areas such as algorithmic trading, digital banking, blockchain and defi applications, and financial data analysis.

The FinTech minor is open to all students at Georgia Tech. Electives courses can count towards the minor. For more information about Georgia Tech policies on minors, please refer to the Catalog guidelines.
