Dear Scheller Community,

As we approach the end of the year, I find myself reflecting on all that we’ve accomplished together this year. Thank you for your energy and passion—you make this an extraordinary place to learn and grow.

I want to start by celebrating Georgia Tech Football’s perfect home record at Bobby Dodd Stadium, a testament to the determination and spirit of the Yellow Jackets! Our traditions brought much fun this last month, especially as our graduate students and alumni came together for a special Homecoming Kickoff. I also had the pleasure of meeting many alumni at the Scheller in Your City event in Charlotte. These gatherings strengthen our bonds and reinforce the extraordinary value of the Scheller network.

November also saw us welcoming the five Scheller graduates on the 2024 Georgia Tech Alumni 40 Under 40 list for a campus visit. Their stories of leadership and impact showcased the incredible contributions Scheller alumni make across industries and communities. Meeting these honorees was a powerful reminder of the transformative potential of a Scheller education.

Our academic programs continue to earn national recognition. Fortune ranked our MBA program specialties in international business and sustainability No. 4 and No. 10 in the U.S., respectively. Additionally, our M.S. in Quantitative and Computational Finance program was ranked No. 8 in the nation by QuantNet. Beyond degree programs, our Executive Education arm held a supply chain leadership program with The Coca-Cola Company. We are dedicated to excellence across all learning formats, as we equip students and professionals with the skills needed to thrive in a dynamic global economy.

Another highlight has been our Class of 2024 career outcomes. The MBA Class of 2024 included 69 job seekers securing roles across 36 employers in 12 industries. The Undergraduate Class of 2024 achieved a 90% employment rate within three months of graduation, $80,000 average starting salary, and $7,600 average signing bonus. The success of our students is a testament to their adaptability and determination and the robust support our College’s career services professionals.

Scheller continues to be at the forefront of thought leadership and research. In November, the Strategy and Innovation academic area hosted the 22nd annual Roundtable for Engineering Entrepreneurship Research (REER) Conference, welcoming scholars from around the world.

Looking to the future:

  • I look forward to connecting with our alumni in Dallas on December 5 for a special networking event co-hosted with Dean Raheem Beyah of the College of Engineering. If you’re in the area, please join us for an evening of connection and collaboration.
  • Georgia Tech Fall 2024 Commencement ceremonies will be held from December 12 to 14, with our special Scheller-only master’s ceremony on December 14. Michael Messner, Professor of the Practice, and Adebisi Peace Adedayo, Executive MBA ‘24, will be our featured speakers. We look forward to bringing together graduates, faculty, family, and friends to honor this significant milestone.
  • We hosted our final Tech Talks Business session of 2024 with Bill George, former CEO of Medtronic and author of True North, and we eagerly anticipate the 2025 season, which features a dynamic lineup of speakers from some of the world’s most innovative companies.
  • Tech Square Phase 3 continues to transform Atlanta’s skyline and pave the way for groundbreaking innovation. I encourage you to explore our new TS3 landing page, where you can explore the vision behind this milestone, hear directly from project leaders, and even view live progress via webcam.

As we close out the year, I want to recognize two esteemed members of the Scheller community who are retiring: Dave Deiters and Cheryl Gaimon. Their legacies will inspire us for years to come. Please join me in celebrating their remarkable careers and wishing them the best in their next chapter.

To our community: Thank you for everything you’ve done to make 2024 such a memorable year at Scheller. We wish our students the absolute best with their finals and wish for all a well-deserved break this holiday season. I can’t wait to see what we will achieve together in the new year!

Warm regards,
