Dear Scheller Community,
As we welcome the vibrant energy of spring to campus and approach the close of another successful academic year, I want to take this opportunity to reflect on the moments that have defined the past month.
As a community, we have continued to reflect on the legacy of Professor Bradford Baker, whose recent passing reminded us of the profound impact one individual can have. His dedication to excellence in teaching and research lives on in the lives he touched. Bradford’s influence is and will remain a part of Scheller’s foundation.
Over the next few months, we are finalizing recruiting and admissions for our Fall 2025 classes, including our first cohort of M.S. Major in Management Online students. This innovative addition extends the accessibility and flexibility of a Georgia Tech business education to working professionals around the globe.
Our academic excellence continues to be recognized on the national stage. In the U.S. News & World Report rankings released today, Scheller achieved its highest placements ever, with the Full-time MBA program climbing to No. 21 and the Evening MBA to No. 10 in the U.S. Several of our MBA specialties were also ranked in the Top 10 nationally, including business analytics, information systems, operations, and project management.
We have also continued to see Scheller at the forefront of conversations shaping the future of business. In March, we hosted three significant conferences: the AI and the Future of Finance Conference, the Household Finance Conference, and the Marketing Innovation Conference, all of which brought world-class scholars and industry leaders to our campus. As part of these conferences, our Tech Talks Business series featured compelling sessions with the CEOs of Invesco, Truist, and Equifax, further strengthening our connection between academia and industry. Earlier last month, Scheller also hosted a custom workshop for City of Atlanta cabinet members on AI, reinforcing our commitment to bringing emerging tech to benefit communities.
As we celebrate these milestones, I want to underscore the crucial role that philanthropy plays in sustaining our momentum. Support is critical to ensure that Scheller continues to lead with purpose, impact, and innovation. Through our strategic fundraising priorities, we are focused on:
- Student access and success to support scholarships and experiential learning opportunities
- Faculty attraction and retention to fund research awards and professorships
- Building infrastructure to create new learning spaces and integrate cutting-edge technologies
Looking ahead, we have several celebrations and gatherings on the horizon:
- On April 10, we will host the 17th annual Scheller College of Business Honors Day, a cherished tradition recognizing the outstanding contributions of our students, faculty, and staff.
- A couple weeks later on April 26, we will gather for the much-loved annual Crawfish Boil, an event that brings together MBA and M.S. Major in Management students, alumni, faculty, and staff to connect as a community.
- We look forward to celebrating the hard work of our students during Commencement and Master’s Graduation Celebration events on May 2 and 3. I encourage faculty and staff to volunteer and help us support our graduating students.
- On May 5, I will be in Seattle for a Scheller in Your City event, offering alumni and friends of the College a chance to connect and share their experiences.
- Finally, the next installment of Tech Talks Business will feature Jonathan Gray, President and COO of Blackstone, on May 15 in New York City. This will be a powerful conclusion to a semester of remarkable thought leadership.
Thank you for your continued engagement and commitment to Scheller. I am thrilled to be on this journey together to ensure we keep being Stellar at Scheller!
