Cecil B. Day Program for Business Ethics

The Cecil B. Day Program for Business Ethics seeks to develop the highest ethical standards in the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business community by supporting curriculum, research, and specific extracurricular activities that increase the understanding of ethics.

The program's outreach includes supporting the Institute for Leadership and Social Impact's Ideas 2 Serve competition, the Net Impact, an annual speaker series, and grants to faculty who incorporate ethics into their curriculum or do research that relates to business ethics issues.

Cecil B. Day

Cecil B. Day, for whom the Program in Business Ethics is named, was founder of Days Inns of America. He died in 1978. His widow, Deen Day Sanders, was inspired to endow the Cecil B. Day Program because of her late husband’s strong belief in ethical business behavior.

Faculty & Student Support

Grants from the Cecil B. Day Foundation are awarded to faculty who investigate ethical issues in their research or integrate ethics into their curriculum. Student support from the Foundation includes financial assistance for travel to attend the Net Impact conference and to participate in case competitions related to business ethics.

Cecil B. Day Prize

The Program supports the Institute for Leadership and Social Impact by granting a $2,500 top prize for the Ideas to Serve (I2S) Competition's Advanced Track.

Net Impact Conference

The Cecil B. Day Program in Business Ethics helped to fund a group of 12 MBA students to travel to Philadelphia for the annual Net Impact Conference in November 2016. They had the opportunity to hear from impact-driven speakers, learn how businesses can be a force for good, and network with Net Impact chapters from other schools. Students returned inspired to make an impact through their careers!
