On April 15th (5 to 6:30 pm, Scheller College of Business), the Institute for Leadership and Social Impact (ILSI) invites you to the 2024 Ideas to Serve (I2S) Poster Showcase, the culmination of the Social Impact course. The course centers on the experience of Atlanta civic innovators and social entrepreneurs tackling our city's critical social issues.
During the I2S Showcase, students will present the results of their problem-discovery journey around various societal issue areas prevalent in Atlanta. The 2024 topics are food equity, safety and justice, youth development, mental health, environmental justice, and affordable housing.
The event will provide refreshments, pops, and the chance to vote for your favorite poster. Guests will have the opportunity to meet our outstanding community partners, who are working hard to create a better ATL for all of us. This year's partners include Southern Center for Human Rights, Freedom is a Choice, Historic Westside Garden, Hand, Heart, and Soul Project, 3DGirls, Hopeful Change; Helping Empower Youth, Lead Center for the Youth, West Atlanta Watershed Alliance, Center for Community Progress.
I2S takes a transformative learning approach to social innovation, encouraging students to be active and compassionate listeners, take a systems approach to identifying the root cause of issues, research the solution landscape to learn from what works and what has failed, and reflect on their discovery journey. A series of hands-on workshops complemented by conversations with front-line experts equip participants with broadly relevant problem-discovery tools and skills to apply in any field and career.
