The Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business is excited to announce the launch of a new Executive Education course: Cybersecurity Governance for Board Members.

The two-day course is designed for sitting and aspiring board members. The course teaches participants how to leverage their existing business and risk management skills and apply them to cybersecurity oversight. Participants learn the essential language, tools, and strategies to ensure regulatory compliance and protect their organizational assets and reputation.

Cyber risk is relevant to organizations of every size, and board members play a vital role in safeguarding their data and systems. It's also important they understand the cyber-related rulemaking trends from the SEC and global counterparts. Participants will learn from cyber experts about the obstacles of managing an enterprise cybersecurity program and tools to identify cultural and organizational challenges.

“There are a lot of changes happening within cybersecurity, and it’s paramount for board members to understand these trends so they can effectively lead and protect their organizations,” said Jerry Perullo, faculty director for the course and Professor of the Practice at the Georgia Tech School of Cybersecurity and Privacy. “This course will equip board members with the knowledge and practical steps to enhance their governance regarding cyber risks.”

The comprehensive curriculum covers a range of cybersecurity elements, including analyzing cyber news, threat and cyber management, roles and departmental structure, third-party analysis, and more. The course also includes a fireside chat with cybersecurity professionals to learn about their real encounters with cyber risk. The in-person course meets at Scheller, allowing participants the opportunity to network with fellow board members.

Sessions for the Fall 2024 cohort are October 24 to 25. Registration is now open.
