The Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business, an educational leader at the intersection of business and technology, is launching a new online Leveraging Digital Technology Graduate Certificate with classes starting in Fall 2023. This represents the second credit-earning online credential offered by the College, on the heels of the Business Analytics Graduate Certificate launched earlier this year. Coursework in the program is designed to expand knowledge and understanding of emerging technologies in business. Select credits earned can be applied toward the Georgia Tech Full-time and Evening MBA programs.
“This new program will help professionals develop their technical skills, gain new insights, and meet the demands of today’s tech-driven business world. The courses leverage our College’s expertise in technology, artificial intelligence, and marketing, and our faculty will bring invaluable knowledge and real-world experience to their online classrooms,” said Dean Maryam Alavi.
The Leveraging Digital Technology Graduate Certificate consists of four courses taught by Georgia Tech’s renowned faculty. The courses are 100% online and taught in an asynchronous, seven-week executive format, allowing students to take up to two courses each semester and complete the program in less than a year. Professionals have the flexibility to complete the certificate at their own pace while accommodating work, life, and other commitments.
Scheller has partnered with Georgia Tech Professional Education (GTPE), a leader in online education and lifetime learning, to design courses for online delivery, administer the program, and provide student services. GTPE has served the learning needs of working professionals and industry partners across the globe for over 100 years.
“In today’s dynamic working environment, it is crucial that professionals have access to a range of options to meet their educational and career needs,” said Nelson Baker, dean of Professional Education. “Graduate certificates provide a unique opportunity for learners to gain needed skills and expertise without the time commitment of a master's program, but also allow the credits gained to be applied to pursuing one at a later date.”
The certificate teaches professionals actionable skills to improve organizational effectiveness using emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, digital marketing, business models, and more. The certificate provides professionals with the skills needed for career growth, career pivots, and reaching entrepreneurial goals. Students also join a robust online community where they can build a global network spanning different industries and functions.
"The Leveraging Digital Technology Graduate Certificate provides a mixture of modern techniques, current industry insights, and forward-looking opportunities associated with evolving technologies,” said Michael Buchanan, who teaches the Digital Marketing course for the certificate. “The courses are designed to empower students with powerful decision-making skills and leadership capabilities related to the evolving landscape of digital technologies.”
