Georgia Tech’s newly minted football coach Geoff Collins and Keith Werle, managing director of the Business Analytics Center at Scheller College of Business, have been announced as two judges for the National Football League’s 2019 1st and Future competition. The fourth annual competition is designed to incite innovation in athlete health, performance, and safety. Tech will host the Feb. 2 event on campus, kicking off Super Bowl LIII weekend.
Finalists will compete in the ‘NFL Punt Analytics Competition’ and ‘Innovations to Advance Athlete Health and Safety Competition’ categories for cash prizes and tickets to Super Bowl LIII, which will be hosted in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Georgia Tech’s Advanced Technology Development Center managed competition submissions.
Though admission to the competition is by invitation only, the NFL Network will livestream the Saturday event.
