Tonya is the former Chief Diversity Officer (2016-2023) of Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia where she also served as Title IX Coordinator and the inaugural Director of the Lane Center for Social and Racial Equity. Her professional career also includes Director of Education and Outreach of the Tubman Museum (2012-2016) in Macon, Georgia, and executive Camp and Program Director for the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia, Inc. (2002-2012).
Tonya's educational background includes English and Philosophy (BA), Theology (MTh) and Licensed Ministry, Certification in Human Rights Education, and Certificate of Trauma-Informed Practices (Columbia College). She also serves as a registered Inclusion Practitioner for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion workshops, trainings, and dialogue facilitation.
