Business has no boundaries. The Georgia Tech Scheller Executive MBA program's Global Business (Leadership) specialization teaches you to think strategically and contribute to companies that work across borders and around the world.

The Global Business (Leadership) specialization starts with the Executive MBA core coursework, then transitions to a specialized curriculum focusing on the dynamics of global competition and strategies for building a global competitive advantage. You'll learn about global workforce management, global supply chain, international finance, and product strategies for global markets.

Education at the Executive Level

The Executive MBA programs begins in late August with an immersive week of learning and networking. Through the next 17 months, classes are held twice a month on select Friday evenings from 5:30 - 9:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Coursework may include additional virtual class sessions.

In your first two semesters of the program, you will strengthen your business acumen with core Executive MBA classes. You will then move on to courses specific to your specialization in Global Business or Management of Technology. The program ends in December, with you ready to leverage your knowledge and experience for career impact.

Global Business (Leadership) Courses

In addition to the Executive MBA core courses, Global Business (Leadership) students must complete the following courses:

Explores global business issues and strategies through an international residency.

Examines the position of the U.S. in world markets, various types of international business transactions, and the impact of global economic, political, legal, and cultural forces.

Focuses on the process and technology infrastructure necessary to support international logistics, procurement, and delivery, as well as reaching new customers through electronic channels.

Focuses on foreign exchange transactions, management of exposure, international bond, and equity markets, and international banking.

Examines managing a global workforce through effective employee recruitment, compensation, performance appraisals, and HR processes and systems.

Global Business (Leadership) Capstone Project

Work with a corporate sponsor to address a current, real-world issue on a global scale.

Global Strategy Project I and II are completed in the final two semesters of the program. The project gives you and your capstone team the opportunity to work with a corporate sponsor to address a current strategic issue on a global scale. You'll identify opportunities and make recommendations for implementing strategies internationally, from product and pricing to procurement, logistics, and management.

Immersive Residencies

During your two-week international residency, you'll examine the cultural, legal, and economic aspects of each location you visit, gaining deeper firsthand knowledge of international business practices and cultures. The experience will give you an understanding of the country's economy and how to effectively conduct business in an international setting.

Global Business students have the opportunity to participate in an additional four to five-day international residency to further develop the skills necessary for conducting business in a global market.
