Semifinalist Events

Students who are chosen as semifinalist for the Dean's Scholarship and the Faculty Merit Scholarship must attend one on campus interview. Please refer to the competition calendar to see when students are notified if they are a semifinalist.

Althought interviews take place at this event, students and guests also learn valuable information about Georgia Tech.  Many current students and staff are present to answer questions.  There is a separate planned program for guests that occurs while the students are interviewing. 

Semifinalists and guests will:

• Tour the Scheller College of Business in Tech Square with current students
• Have dinner with current students
• Interview for a Scheller College of Business Scholarship for Freshmen
• Hear from undergraduate business career staff, who will explain the intensive career preparation business students go through.
• Attend a young alumni panel to see how the GT business administration degree has contributed to the success of recent graduates

Registration:

When you are notified if you are a semifinalist, you will receive instructions about how to register for an interview event.  Although multiple interview event dates are offered per scholarship, you only need to attend one event.

Directions and Parking:

The Directions and Parking page has detailed information about driving directions, MARTA directions, maps and more. 

All of the instructions on the Directions and Parking page direct guests to the Technology Square parking garage.  This garage is the suggested place to park for semifinalist events.  It is located next to the College of Business and the Georgia Tech Hotel.

Accommodations:

The Scheller College of Business on Georgia Tech's campus is located next to the Georgia Tech Hotel.  If you would like to spend an evening on campus, the Georgia Tech Hotel is a perfect location. Information about a Georgia Tech rate, if available, will be provided to semifinalists.

Transportation to campus from Atlanta:

MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) is the subway system in Atlanta.  The red and gold line both start at the airport.  Both lines travels to the Midtown MARTA station, which has a complimentary Georgia Tech trolley.  The trolley goes directly to the Scheller College of Business building and the GT Hotel.

Although the Atlanta airport has many car rental options, it is possible to fly to Atlanta and visit Georgia Tech without renting a car.

 The Tech Trolley waits on Peachtree Place outside of the Midtown MARTA stop.  Take the trolley to Technology Square, which is the location of the Georgia Tech Hotel and the Scheller College of Business.  Click HERE to view the Tech Trolley route.
