Operations and Supply Chain Management Concentration

The Operations and Supply Chain Management concentration is open to management students at Georgia Tech. After completing MGT 3501, students will complete six advanced Operations courses. To earn the concentration, students must earn a grade of "C" or higher in all required courses (18 hours).

The undergraduate student who completes the Operations and Supply Chain Management concentration is considered to have a comprehensive knowledge of planning and managing an organization's resources and processes that create products or services. The resources include the work force, technology, supply chain, production and service creation processes, materials, and information, all of which typically represent a significant portion of an organization's total costs and controllable assets. The student is considered to have a depth of knowledge across a broad set of Operations Management issues that permeate all levels of decision making from the long-term strategic to the tactical and day-to-day activities. As a result, the student is capable of contributing to an organization's success by developing resource-based distinctive competencies.

Operations and Supply Chain Management Concentration (18 hours)

GROUP A: Operations Management Electives

Choose at least four (4) courses from the following:

MGT 3510 Management of Technology

MGT 3744* Managing Products, Service, and Technology Development (Spring 2013 - restricted to Technology and Management minor students only; restriction will not be lifted)

MGT 4352 Operations Resource Planning

MGT 4353 Operations Strategy

MGT 4360 Global Operations and Supply Chain Management

MGT 4366 Service Operations

MGT 4803 Supply Chain Modeling

GROUP B: Other Management Electives

Choose no more than two (2) from the following:

MGT 3743** Analysis of Emerging Technologies (Fall 2012 section is restricted to Technology and Management program students. This restriction will not be lifted.)

MGT 4056 Electronic Commerce

MGT 4057 Business Process Analysis and Design

MGT 4193*** Servant Leadership, Values, and Systems

MGT 4309**** Services Marketing

MGT 4670 Entrepreneurship

MGT 4803 Management of Healthcare Operations

MGT 4910 Special Problems - Independent Research

OR any remaining classes from Group A courses above

*Previously taught as MGT 4803 - Collaborative Product Development. No credit allowed for both MGT 4803 (Collaborative Product Development) and MGT 3744.

**Previously taught as MGT 4803 - Emerging Technologies. No credit allowed for both MGT 4803 (Emerging Technologies) and MGT 3743.

***Previously taught as MGT 4803 - Servant Leadership, Values, and Systems. No credit allowed for both MGT 4803 (Servant Leadership, Values, and Systems) and MGT 4193.

****Previously taught as MGT 4803 - Services Marketing. No credit allowed for both MGT 4803 (Services Marketing) and MGT 4309.
