Widely recognized for excellence in teaching and research, faculty members of Scheller College of Business continue to raise the business school's profile through their professional activities and honors.

• Chris Forman, associate professor of information technology management, was appointed senior editor of Information Systems Research. He also won the Best Paper Award at the Workshop on Health IT and Economics for the paper, "The Trillion Dollar Condundrum: Complementaries and Health Information Technology."

• Wade Chumney, assistant professor of business law and ethics, won the Young Scholar Award of Excellence from the Southeastern Academy of Legal Studies in Business.

• Atalay Atasu, assistant professor of operations management, won the Wickham Skinner Early-Career Research Accomplishments Award from the Production & Operations Management Society.

• Eric Overby, assistant professor of information technology management, won the Best Reviewer Award for 2012 from the journal Information Systems Research.

• Beril Toktay, professor of operations management, was named holder of the Scheller College's Brady Family Chair. She also was named area editor on environment, energy and sustainability for the Operations Research Journal.

• Vinod Singhal, professor of operations management and associate dean of MBA programs, won the Journal of Operations Management's Best Associate Editor Award.

• Dong Liu, assistant professor of organizational behavior, won the Best Paper with International Implications Award from the Academy of Management's Organizational Behavior Division. He also won the "Thanks for Being a Great Teacher" Award, a student-nominated honor sponsored by the Georgia Tech Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning.

• Manpreet Hora, assistant professor of operations management, won the Academy of Management Journal's Outstanding Reviewer Award.

• Lucien Dhooge, the Sue and John Staton professor of business law and ethics, won the Best International Case Study Award from the Academy of Legal Studies in Business. He also won the College's Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence.

• Sandra Slaughter, professor of information technology management and holder of the Alton M. Costley Chair, was elected to the Council for the Association for Information Systems (AIS), serving as the representative for the Americas Region. She and Sri Narasimhan, senior associate dean and professor of information technology management, won a grant as principal investigators of the Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) program, a joint effort with the Georgia Tech Research Institute.

• Frank Rothaermel, professor of strategic management, was named a Georgia Power Professor of Excellence, recognized at the Georgia Tech football game on October 27.
