Tech's Full-time and Evening MBA Programs Ranked High by U.S. News

Published on: 03-15-2011

Georgia Tech College of Management is ranked 28th (11th among public universities) for full-time MBA programs and 17th for part-time programs in U.S. News & World Report's latest rankings. In the latter category, the College's Evening MBA program climbed seven spots over last year (up from 24th).

The magazine, which publishes the rankings each April in a special edition guidebook titled America's Best Graduate Schools, surveyed more than 400 U.S. MBA programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

"We're especially excited to see our Evening Program continue to gain in prestige," says Dean Steve Salbu. "The program's popularity has grown tremendously since its creation 2007. Both our full-time and evening students benefit from the same high quality of instruction, taught by professors who are world renowned in their fields. Though difficult to quantify, the many strengths of both programs are reflected in these rankings."

U.S. News determined its full-time rankings by surveying business school deans, MBA program directors, and corporate recruiters/contacts about the quality of each accredited program. The magazine also factored in the mean starting salaries, bonuses, and employment rates of graduates.

Among the top 50 schools, Georgia Tech had the highest employment rate 90 days after graduation (95.2 percent). In specialty categories, Tech was ranked 13th for Information Systems, 13th for Production/Operations (1st among schools in the Southeast), and 14th for Supply Chain/Logistics (1st among Georgia schools).

In 2010, Georgia Tech was ranked 26th by U.S. News in the full-time category. In the most recent Bloomberg BusinessWeek ranking, Tech's full-time MBA program is ranked 23rd (10th among public universities.)
