"Let's Talk Business Live!" radio show host Mitch Schlimer will lead the Wednesday, Oct. 12 event in Georgia Tech's IMPACT Speaker Series, facilitating a discussion on "real-life lessons in leadership and entrepreneurship" with the creators of Atlanta's National Center for Civil and Human & Rights for online broadcast.

Held at 4:30 PM in LeCraw Auditorium of Georgia Tech College of Management, the panel will feature Doug Shipman, CEO of the National Center for Human Rights; and A.J. Robinson, president of Central Atlanta Progress and the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District.

Free and open to the public, the weekly IMPACT Speaker Series brings notable business executives, high-tech entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and intellectual leaders to Georgia Tech.

Now under development, the National Center for Civil and Human & Rights will not only commemorate the groundbreaking contributions of Atlantans and Georgians to the historic struggle for African-American freedom and equality, but also serve as a space for ongoing dialogue, study, and contributions to the resolution of current and future freedom struggles of all people at local, national, and international levels.

Mitch Schlimer, founder of the Let's Talk Business Network, began his entrepreneurial career at the age of five, selling pretzels from a street cart with his grandfather in Queens, New York. Later while operating Mitch Schlimer Tennis Academy and pro shops in the late 1970s, he was robbed numerous times, leading him to create a video system for recording homes and businesses for insurance purposes. He later retired from the tennis industry and founded a comprehensive video services company, which did video inventories, video yearbooks, video wills and depositions, sales and training tapes, among other products. He is founder and executive director of the Entrepreneur Hall of Fame & Museum.

The IMPACT Speaker Series is organized by the Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship at Georgia Tech.
