Bill Rogers, president and CEO of the SunTrust Banks, will discuss "The Next Decade in Banking – Being Part of the Solution" at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19 in the IMPACT Speaker Series.

Rogers' lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be held in LeCraw Auditorium of the College of Management building (800 West Peachtree Street).

Organized by Georgia Tech's Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship, the weekly IMPACT Speaker Series brings notable business executives, high-tech entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and intellectual leaders to the College.

Rogers started his current role in June 201, having served as chief operating officer of SunTrust Banks since November 2010 and president since December 2008.  As president and CEO, he is responsible for all aspects of the financial performance, corporate strategy and business operations of the company, as well as regulatory compliance, client service delivery, and all staff support functions.

Rogers began his career in 1980 in the commercial bank training program of Trust Company of Georgia, a SunTrust predecessor company. Throughout his career with SunTrust, he has held increasingly senior positions across the enterprise, including corporate and commercial banking, corporate finance, retail banking. and mortgage banking.
