Financial Times Lists Tech's Global Executive MBA among World's Best

Published on: 10-23-2011

Georgia Tech College of Management's Global Executive MBA is among the world's best, according to the Financial Times latest rankings. Among Executive MBA Programs, the College of Management is ranked 60th worldwide.

Georgia Tech is the top-ranked school in the University System of Georgia on the Financial Times' international list of 100 top programs (Georgia State University is 64th and the University of Georgia is 75th).

The Financial Times bases its rankings on global business curriculum, alumni satisfaction with career development and changes in salaries, thought leadership and research productivity by faculty, and student demographics and diversity.

Georgia Tech College of Management is ranked 15th for International Course Experience, defined as coursework conducted outside the country in which the program is based. Students in Georgia Tech's 17-month Global Executive MBA program go on two international residencies (typically one week in Latin America or Europe and 12 days in Asia), gaining exposure to multiple overseas executives, organizations, and cultures.

The program builds upon an MBA core by teaching participants to lead organizations in a global context, develop new markets for products and services, take advantage of technology to manage global supply chains, and manage global teams.

"We're very pleased to be recognized as one of the world's best at preparing business leaders for success in an increasingly global economy," says Steve Salbu, dean of Georgia Tech College of Management. "Our students learn how to lead in a global context through one of the most internationally focused programs available."

Started in 2005, Georgia Tech's Global Executive MBA program includes a year-long Global Strategy Project, enabling students to work on a real-world Global Strategy Project with global implications. Georgia Tech also offers an Executive MBA in Management of Technology through the Huang Executive Education Center.
