Georgia Tech Rises in U.S. News Undergraduate Business Rankings

Published on:08-17-2010

For the second year in a row, Georgia Tech College of Management has risen in U.S. News & World Report's rankings of the nation's best undergraduate programs. The College is currently 28th (16th among public universities), up from 31st in 2009 and 35th in 2008.

The College has also jumped in several academic specialty categories. This year, the College is ranked 6th in Quantitative Analysis (up from 7th), 10th in Management Information Systems/IT Management (up from 14th), 11th in Production/Operations Management (up from 12th), and 14th in Supply Chain/Logistics (up from 16th).

"I'm pleased with the overall trajectory of our rankings as we grow into the world's leading business school for management and technology," says College of Management Dean Steve Salbu. "Breaking into the Top Ten for IT Management is very exciting and reflects given our progress in building that area."

Overall Georgia Tech is ranked 35th among national universities (7th among public schools). For more than a decade, Georgia Tech has ranked in the top 10 of public universities. Tech also is highlighted in "Programs to Look For" for its co-op, internship, senior capstone and undergraduate research programs.

“In addition to offering Tech students top-ranked programs of study, many benefit from real-world experiences in the U.S. and abroad, as well as opportunities for innovation that better prepare them for leadership in addressing some of society’s most challenging issues,” said Georgia Tech President G.P. "Bud" Peterson.

In addition to the undergraduate rankings, Georgia Tech College of Management is ranked 26th (10th among public universities) for full-time MBA programs and 24th for part-time (evening) MBA programs by U.S. News & World Report.
