Tech’s Full-time and Evening MBA Programs Ranked High by U.S. News

Published on:04-15-2010

Georgia Tech College of Management is ranked 26th (10th among public universities) for full-time MBA programs and 24th for part-time programs in U.S. News & World Report's latest rankings. This is the first time Georgia Tech's three-year-old Evening MBA program has been eligible for ranking.

The magazine, which publishes the rankings each April in a special edition guidebook titled America's Best Graduate Schools, surveyed more than 400 U.S. MBA programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

Georgia Tech's MBA is the top-ranked full-time program in the state, ahead of Emory University (27th), while the Evening program is tied with Georgia State University at 24th.

"We're delighted that the Evening program has gained so much prestige so soon after its creation in 2007," says College of Management Dean Steve Salbu. "Both our Full-time and Evening students benefit from the same high quality of instruction, taught by professors who are world renowned in their fields."

In specialty categories, Georgia Tech was ranked 12th for Operations, 13th for Supply Chain/Logistics, and 14th for Information Systems.

U.S. News & World Report determined its rankings by surveying business school deans, MBA program directors, and corporate recruiters/contacts about the quality of each accredited program. The magazine also factored in the mean starting salaries, bonuses, and employment rates of 2008 graduates.

In 2009, Georgia Tech tied for 22nd among full-time programs.
