Cindy Zapata, assistant professor of organizational behavior, was one of three junior faculty members at Tech honored by the Academy of Management.

Three junior faculty at the College of Management recently won honors at the Academy of Management Annual Conference, held in Montreal, Canada.

Eric Overby, an assistant professor of information technology management, won the Best Paper award in the Organizational Communication and Information Systems division for his paper "Does Individuals' Adoption of New Technologies Supplement or Substitute for Incumbent Technologies?" The paper was co-authored by Sam Ransbotham, who earned his PhD from Tech in 2008 and is now an assistant professor at Boston College.

Cindy Zapata, an assistant professor of organizational behavior at Georgia Tech, won the Best Paper honor from the Academy's Conflict Management Division for the paper "Social Exchange from the Supervisor's Perspective: Does Employee Trustworthiness Predict Justice?" The paper was co-authored by Jesse Olsen, who received his PhD from Tech in 2010 and is now on the faculty of the SolBridge International School of Business.

Alex Oettl, an assistant professor of strategic management who joined the College of Management faculty in 2009, was a finalist for Best Dissertation in the Business and Policy Division. His dissertation was titled "A New Taxonomy for Star Scientists: Three Essays."
