As the 2007-08 academic year came to a close, Georgia Tech MBA and undergraduate students took time to honor their peers and faculty members for their dedication and excellence.
During the annual MBA Spring Banquet, held at the View at King Plow Arts Center, David Silver was honored as Outstanding Second Year MBA Student and Ari Zachas as Outstanding First Year MBA Student (awards voted on by their peers). The faculty named Keith Bevan as MBA Student of the Year.
MBA students selected lecturer Robert Burgess, teacher of Analytical Tools, as Core Professor of the Year; and Christina Shalley, professor of organizational behavior, as Elective Professor of the Year.
Both Evening MBA and undergraduate management students recognized accounting associate professor Deborah Turner as the Professor of the Year.
Undergraduate students who received major honors include:
• Lauren C. Miller, winner of the Outstanding Student in Management Award ($500).
• Patricia A. Smith, winner of the Outstanding Junior in Management Award ($300).
• Jason Blake, winner of the Financial Executives International Scholarship Award ($1000).
• Forrest Warren, winner of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants Inc. Scholarship Award ($500).
