David Herold to Discuss Leading Change in September 24 IMPACT Lecture

Published on:09-22-2008

Georgia Tech’s IMPACT Speaker Series will feature organizational behavior expert David Herold discussing effective ways to approach change management on September 24.

Herold, who will speak at 4:30 PM in LeCraw Auditorium, is professor emeritus of organizational behavior at Georgia Tech and co-author of the new book Change the Way You Lead Change (Stanford Business Books).

Co-authored by Georgia Tech organizational behavior professor Donald Fedor, the book shows how companies live on a "roller coaster of change," with overlapping changes being driven by different events, led by different executives, and originating from different parts of the organization.

According to Herold and Fedor, change is never a stepwise or easily prescribed process: It is messy and complicated, and its outcomes are easily swayed by a host of factors.

Held by the College of Management and the Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship, the weekly IMPACT series provides Georgia Tech students, alumni, and members of the Atlanta community a free opportunity to network and learn from high-tech entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and notable business leaders.
