Associate Professor Wu Wins Three Awards
D.J. Wu

D.J. Wu, associate professor of information technology management

D.J. Wu, associate professor of information technology management, recently won several prestigious honors.

Two of his papers won 2006 Best Paper in Track Awards at the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), held Dec. 10-13 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. "E-sourcing: Impact of Bidding Behavior and Non-Price Attributes" (co-authored by Georgia Tech doctoral student Fang Vivian Zhong) won for the Web-based Information Systems and Applications conference track. Wu's other paper, "Which Came First, IT or Productivity? The 'Virtuous Cycle' of Investment and Use in Enterprise Systems" (co-authored by Sinan Aral and Erik Brynjolfsson, respectively a doctoral student and professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology) won for the Valuing IT Opportunities track.

More than 1,200 authors contributed 627 papers for consideration to ICIS. There was only one winner for each of the conference's twelve tracks.

Wu also won the Best Reviewer Award at the 2006 INFORMS Conference on Information Systems and Technology, held November 4-5 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

"These awards were total surprises," Wu says. "I feel extremely honored to be able to collaborate with such outstanding students and scholars. These awards are just part of an ever-increasing stream of outside recognitions showing the high quality of our research program and talent of our PhD students. This is an exciting time to be in the Information Technology Management area of Georgia Tech's business school."
