Marie Thursby, professor of strategic management, recently won the Innovation in Pedagogy Award sponsored by the Academy of Management's Entrepreneurship Division and McGraw-Hill.

The annual $1,500 award recognizes those who implement an innovation in entrepreneurship education for graduates and/or undergraduates. Thursby won for development of the Technological Innovation: Generating Economic Results (TI:GER®) program.

Housed in the College of Management, TI:GER is a collaboration between various Georgia Tech colleges and Emory Law School that brings together management, economics, law, science, and engineering graduate students in the classroom and research lab to learn how to move technologies into the marketplace.

Thursby, executive director of TI:GER, competed with nominations from around the world for the Innovation in Pedagogy Award, which was established in 1988. The purpose of the award is to encourage not only educational innovations, but also their dissemination.

Explaining their selection, the Awards Committee called TI:GER "a wonderful environment for future entrepreneurs to learn in."
