Marketing professor Naresh Malhotra recently hit another career high, winning the Outstanding Marketing Educator of the Year award from the Academy of Marketing Science (AMS).
"I'm very pleased to receive such a big honor," says Malhotra, who accepted the award at the AMS National Conference in Tampa, Fla. "It's based on a lifetime of achievements."
The highest honor bestowed by AMS, the award recognizes Malhotra's achievements in research, teaching and service over the years. After joining the College of Management in 1979, he became the first faculty member in the business school ever promoted to Regents' professor, the highest academic rank in the University System of Georgia.
A past president of AMS and chairman of its board of governors, Malhotra has published more than 100 papers in major refereed journals, including the Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Research, Marketing Science, Management Science, Journal of Marketing, and Journal of Health Care Marketing. His textbook, Marketing Research: An Applied Orientation, is used by more than 144 schools in the United States as well as internationally.
