Georgia Tech College of Management Receives $25 Million Commitment spacer 
Georgia Tech College of Management has received an anonymous commitment of $25 million, $20 million of which is a 1-to-1 challenge grant designed to inspire charitable gifts and commitments from other donors to the College's endowment. The remaining $5 million will provide funds expendable at the discretion of the College of Management's dean, Steve Salbu.

To better compete for top undergraduate students in business, the College of Management has created the Dean's Scholarship Program. The College is now in the process of securing funding for both expendable and endowed scholarships for this program.

Ian Easton, BSM 1993, turned the dotcom bust of 2000 into a boom for his business, which refurbishes used IT equipment and systems for resale. "We never envisioned it taking off so fast," Easton says. "But there was a flood of equipment on the market after the bubble burst so the timing was great for us to grow."

Study: Faking Feelings Preferable to Fudging Facts in Negotiations  
When it comes to business negotiations, faking it until you make it is more acceptable in some ways than others, according to a new study. Ingrid Fulmer, an organizational behavior assistant professor, has found that intentionally faking emotional states such as enthusiasm or anger to influence someone in a negotiation is viewed as more morally appropriate than other forms of deception, such as misrepresenting facts or making false promises.
