College Honors Distinguished Alumni at Celebration Awards

Georgia Tech College of Management recognized the vision, achievement, and leadership of its alumni Nov. 11 at the business school’s Awards Celebration, inducting three leaders into the Hall of Fame, Academy of Distinguished Alumni, and Council of Outstanding Young Alumni.

Numerous alumni and friends attended the event, which was held in the Thornton Atrium and LeCraw Auditorium of the Management building. "We are proud that these inductees are part of the College and delighted to publicly recognize their achievements," said College of Management Dean Steve Salbu.

Plate size, color can lead people to over-serve food

With the holiday season upon us – and all the festive food it brings – people should know that the color contrast between dinnerware and what's placed on top can affect how much we serve ourselves and consume, according a Georgia Tech College of Management researcher.

"Instead of scooping vanilla ice cream into a white bowl, you'd do better by your diet to pick a different color dish," explains Koert van Ittersum, an associate professor of marketing at Georgia Tech, who conducted this research with marketing professor Brian Wansink of Cornell University.

Obituary: Late Professor Skip Beebe Leaves Impressive Legacy in Real Estate Field

M.J. "Skip" Beebe, an alumnus of and professor at Georgia Tech College of Management, died unexpectedly on Monday, November 7. Beebe, who joined the College faculty in 2009, served as the Robert H. Ledbetter Sr. Professor of the Practice of Real Estate Development.
