Some core courses may be waived based on past academic work, professional work experience, or a waiver exam. If you qualify to waive a course, that course will be replaced with an elective.
Analytical Tools for Decision Support
Exposes students to the most commonly used statistical and optimization-based analytical tools for decision support. The knowledge of these tools enables the decision maker to make informed decisions based on the data available.
Business Communications
Designed to improve verbal communication skills and the use of effective visuals for presentation through the understanding and application of a wide range of techniques.
Business Ethics
A participative class consisting of lectures by the instructor, case analysis, discussion of contemporary ethical business issues and presentations by speakers.
Financial & Managerial Accounting
A foundation course in measuring and reporting the financial performance and status of the firm, as well as basic concepts in cost and managerial accounting.
Financial Management
The objective of this course is to introduce the student to the basic concepts used for valuation in finance and their applications. Topics include time value of money, capital budgeting, risk and return, capital structure, dividend policy, and working capital management
Information Technology Management
A study in understanding and managing information technology, and strategic uses of IT and electronic commerce.
Integrative Management Experience
A team- and project-based course that requires students to draw on all core skills areas for successful completion.
Leadership & Organizational Behavior
The focus of this course is on behavioral issues in the management of individual, team, and organizational performance. This course will develop a systematic understanding of why people behave the way they do in formal organizational settings and in how that knowledge can be translated into practical organizational applications. The class will examine behavioral issues in the management of individual, team, and organizational performance.
Legal Environment of Business
This course involves an examination of laws, rules, and standards of regulation and conduct, guidelines, and systems of conflict resolution relating to business operations and administration.
Managerial Economics
Provides students with an understanding of basic economic concepts (such
as scarcity, costs, markets, and prices) and an ability to apply these
concepts to business decision-making and public policy analysis.
Managerial Economics II
A continuation of Managerial Economics, this course covers microeconomics including, game theory, information economics, oligopoly, and auction and bargaining models.
Marketing Management
Presents and develops the primary marketing variables that are used in designing an overall marketing program. A system approach is taken with the variables managed to optimize overall results.
Operations Management
Focuses on core strategic, tactical, and operational issues in operations management. Some topics include operation strategy, quality management, inventory systems and production planning and control systems. Students will learn to develop the basic concepts and tools for managing the operations of a firm.
Strategic Management
Examines a broader view of the issues of business organizations, with the focus on the total enterprise, the industry and competitive environment in which the organization operates, while stressing both problem formulation and problem solving.
