Evening MBA Program - Organizational Behavior

Interact within organizations more effectively. Coordinate and lead successful teams. Manage change. Facilitate innovations. Develop the social capital to make decisions and lead performance.

The core and heart of any organization is in its people. The competitive demands placed on organizations to be nimble, produce more efficiently while maintaining quality, manage constant change, grow innovatively, and partner more effectively, require a fundamental understanding of individual and collective behavior within an organization.

At Georgia Tech, we go beyond just teaching you how to come up with a business solution. Our approach to organizational behavior focuses on the key issues such as leadership, human resource management, motivation, teamwork, conflict resolution, organizational structure, culture, change management, creativity and innovation. You'll learn how people use information to make decisions and better affect corporate performance.

The course focuses on micro-, meso-, and macro-forces that impact the change process.

Managing Human Resources (MGT 6101)

"People costs" are among the largest expenditures in most organizations, so it is not surprising that research demonstrates a positive relationship between the effective management of the workforce and organizational outcomes. Designed with general managers in mind, this course provides students with an overview of theories, research, and practice in the strategic and day-to-day management of this critical organizational asset.

Negotiation and Conflict (MGT 6110)

Negotiation is the art and science of securing agreements between two or more parties. This course focuses on understanding individuals and groups involved in a broad spectrum of conflict situations that are faced by managers. Through a number of negotiation exercises, participants have the opportunity to develop their skills and to understand the application of useful analytical frameworks for different types of negotiations.

Teamwork in Organizations (MGT 6106)

Working in teams is an integral part of modern organizational life. To better prepare you to succeed as a leader and manager of teams, this course uses case-studies to create opportunities to diagnose team functioning and design effective team qualities, providing greater insight into what separates successful teams from the many that fail. The course focuses on teams tasked with strategic change and innovation.
