Scenarios for Needing an EMBA

Equifax | GE Healthcare | Il Vino Imports | The Saxon Group

A Life Changing Investment.

Michael Poteran joined GE Healthcare as an account executive for the Emerging Market Ultrasound Division. In his first year, Poteran ranked at the top of his division and was rookie of the year, which placed him into GE’s “Circle of Excellence."

Poteran continued to advance within GE Healthcare, and was selected to participate in an elite Management Development tract at General Electric's John F. Welch Leadership Center (Crotonville). “My Crotonville team felt that an MBA would be a logical and beneficial next step in my career. When I polled this group of international leaders as to what schools they respected in the southeastern United States, Georgia Tech was a clear favorite."

Within a few months of his graduation, Poteran’s education paid off as he was promoted within an entirely new business segment. In his new role as the indirect channel manager for GE Home Health, Poteran will create and implement the strategy for this increasingly valuable product line at GE Healthcare. “Having my MBA from a top school was vital to my earning this position," Poteran says. He strongly encourages others to join the Executive MBA in Global Business (EMBA-GB) program, as well. “Anyone who is considering the EMBA-GB program should commit to their career and invest in themselves by moving forward with the program. It was enjoyable, valuable, and has truly changed my life."
