How is the EMBA-MOT different than a Full-time or Evening MBA?
The Executive MBA in Management of Technology provides students with a thorough exposure to all the traditional business disciplines. In addition, it offers a special emphasis on the managerial challenges associated with innovation and technology. The program runs in a convenient Friday evening and Saturday format that allows you to complete your MBA in 17 months without interrupting your career.

What is the program format?
Classes meet on select weekends on Friday evenings (5:30 PM - 9:30 PM) and Saturdays (8:30 AM - 5:30 PM). The program also includes two week-long residencies (Monday-Friday) on campus at Georgia Tech and a two week international residency.

Where are classes held?
Classes are held in the state-of-the art Huang Executive Education Center in the Scheller College of Business, located at the corner of West Peachtree Street and Fifth Street in Technology Square.

Will I have access to Georgia Tech resources?
Yes, you will have access to all student resources. One of the key differentiators of our program— compared with other Atlanta area EMBAs conducted in office buildings— is that you experience your program on a diverse and complete college campus. Whether it is the library resources, the recreation center, or cheering for Division I-A sports teams, you are a full member of the Georgia Tech campus community.

Do I need a laptop computer?
Yes, specific parameters are provided upon acceptance to the program. You will also need high speed Internet access at home and/or work.

How much time outside of class will I need?
Most students spend approximately 10–20 hours per week outside of class studying and in group meetings.

The cost for the class entering in August of 2013 is $79,000.

Travel expenses and accommodations are not included in the cost of the program, but we will gladly provide you with a list of local lodging options.

What are the admission requirements?

  • Online application (including a $50 application fee)
  • Academic transcripts

  • Two professional letters of recommendation (including your manager)
  • A personal interview

When is the application deadline?

When will I know if I have been accepted?
The admissions process takes two to four weeks after we have received your completed application, and you have conducted your personal interview.

What is the profile of a typical student?
Qualified candidates have several years of professional work experience (a minimum of five years is required) with a history of professional advancement and leadership in a technical field or company. Students' personal and professional backgrounds vary, bringing diversity to the classroom experience.
