Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business welcomes Executive MBA applicants with a military background.
The Executive MBA in Global Business (EMBA-GB) and Executive MBA in Management of Technology (EMBA-MOT) are designed to build upon your leadership skills and training to help you transition into a business setting. You will learn to see the business skills you already have in a new light giving you the confidence to succeed in your career.
Both Executive MBA degree programs cover the core foundation of business. You will take classes in economics, statistics, accounting, finance, organizational behavior, marketing, and strategy. Your program will then build on this core foundation with a specialization in global business (EMBA-GB) or management of technology (EMBA-MOT).
Build your network
Each degree cohort consists of approximately 50 students that have an average of 10 to 15 years of business experience in various settings. As well, EMBA students begin the program together, as one cohort, while completing the core course requirements. Because of this interaction with a such a large, diverse group of students, you will discover as much from your classmates as you will from the program's stellar faculty, who are selected for their record of exceptional teaching and research in addition to their ability to meld theory and practice.
Taking classes together during the program as a cohort encourages the development of lifelong friendships and business relationships.
MBA Career Services
Companies value the leadership skills and discipline military professionals can bring into the corporate environment, and combining these skills with an MBA will truly set you apart from the competition. As an Executive MBA student you will have access to the Jones MBA Career Center, which offers a variety of tools and services to help you grow professionally.
Individual career coaching sessions are also available by appointment to help you focus and refine your career goals and strategies.
Application requirements
Online Application
At least five years of professional/military experience (preferably in a leadership role)
Two professional letters of recommendation, including one from your direct supervisor
Company sponsorship for your time commitment to the program
Undergraduate/graduate transcripts from all universities previously attended
Personal interview
GMAT (if required)
GMAT waivers are available to qualified candidates.
